TSC Drama Queens Battle in Clearwater
TSC's U10 Girls Team the Drama Queens traveled to Clearwater over Easter
to play in the prestigious International Countryside Tournament. There was
no time to 'ease' into the tournament since their first game was against
Oldsmar, at that time ranked 4th in the State. After conceding an early
goal the DQ's took control of the game and scored 2 goals to top the
Oldsmar girls 2-1. Building onto this victory Countryside was pushed aside
in the evening game with a score of 7-1. Sunday morning the big, strong
and physical team of West Pasco FC awaited, proudly boasting a number 5
State Ranking spot. The Drama Queens by then were down to 7 players and
again conceded an early goal but again after digging deep they managed to
turn the tables and top West Pasco 4-1 and earned themselves a place in
the finals and a chance to take on the number 1 ranked team in the State,
FSA Krush U. A very physical battle was fought leaving Drama Queen Leah
with a fractured wrist and several others limping before the final whistle
blew at a 3-3 tie. The PK shoot-out went to FSA, sending a very proud DQ
team back to Titusville with silver medals. The successes against all
these ranked teams rocketed the Drama Queens up to the number 2 spot in
the State.
The team, coached by Erik Didden and Dan Vaughan consists of earlier
mentioned Leah, Maegan, LeAnn, Shreya, Haley, Angelina, Brianna, Bailey,
Sarah, Ciera and Taylor.

Drama Queens Capture Ormond Beach Challenge The U10 Girls Drama Queens played in the Ormond Beach Challenge on January 19th and 20th and won all their games including the Championship. In their group matches they put away Creeks Clash 4-0, Ormond Beach 4-0 and the Arlington Lady Lighting 1-0. In the finals the Mako Sharks were beaten 1-0. The main reason no goals were conceded this weekend is because of defender Leah Hamilton and goalkeeper Angelina 'Boomer' Edel. Goals were scored by Leah Hamilton, Ciera Geyer, Sarah Hulbert and Bailey Blalock. The latter scoring the only goals against Lady Lightning and the Mako Sharks. Other members of the team consist of Brianna Wyrick, Angelina Edel, Maegan Didden, Shreya Raman, LeAnn Vaughan and Taylor Lawless. This might be an interesting fact; the Drama Queens who are coached by Erik Didden and assisted by Dan Vaughan have now won five major Challenge Sports Tournaments in a 14 month time span. The Holiday Challenge (Nov '06), the Spring Challenge (April '07), the Labor Day Challenge (Sep '07), The Fall Challenge (Oct '07) and now the Ormond Beach Challenge (Jan '08). Wow!! Has this ever been done before by any team? Way to go ladies and keep up the hard work. TSC also had two other teams competing, the U10 Coed Titans coached by Gary Mauzy finished 2nd in group play by defeating Apollo 7-1, Strikers 5-1 but lost to the eventual group winner Deltona Juniors 0-4. The U13 Coed Tritons coached by Demetrios Vrotsos finished 4th in group play with a scoreless tie against Flagler Firestorm and a loss to Port Orange Stingrays 2-3. In the consolation game, a rematch with the Flagler Firestorm ended 1-2 in favor of Firestorm. All teams proudly represented the Titusville Soccer Club to the larger Central Florida Community. Keep up the good work. Posted January 28, 2008
